Dikasuna Nature Conservation Inc. (DNC) has participated in the third Kiwa Initiative Workshop in Fiji, joining other Pacific conservation groups to exchange experiences and strengthen collaboration on nature-based solutions.

Mr. Kalale Kaupa attended the workshop alongside Project Manager, Mr. Philip Kaupa, representing DNC’s ongoing partnership with the Kiwa Initiative

The workshop brought together conservation organisations from across the South Pacific region to share lessons, approaches, and best practices in environmental protection, sustainability, and community-based conservation.

“The event gave us the opportunity to share our experiences and learn from other organisations working in the field of conservation, sustainability and environmental protection,” Mr Kaupa said.

The Kiwa Initiative, supported by international partners, aims to strengthen climate resilience and biodiversity protection across Pacific Island nations through nature-based solutions and regional cooperation.

DNC’s participation highlights Papua New Guinea’s growing leadership in community-led conservation. The organisation continues to use such regional forums to build capacity, share indigenous knowledge, and apply innovative practices at home in Simbu Province.

Papua New Guinea’s involvement in initiatives like Kiwa strengthens its role in the Pacific’s collective effort to address climate change and protect shared ecosystems.
