Dikasuna Nature Conservation Inc. (DNC) has celebrated the successful completion of its three-day Nursery Training Programme with a graduation ceremony held at the Project Green Lungs nursery site in Simbu Province.

The programme, supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) through the Biodiversity and Climate Fund (BCF), trained 15 participants in nursery management, seedling propagation, and native plant restoration.

Forestry Manager for Simbu Province, Mr. Super Takai, officiated at the ceremony and presented certificates to the newly certified nursery practitioners.

DNC is thankful for the support from UNDP and BCF, which made this training possible for our community members. This training marks another milestone in our mission to promote native plant restoration and strengthen community-led conservation.”

DNC Founder congratulated the graduates for their dedication and hard work, describing them as role models in advancing the organisation’s reforestation goals.

“A heartfelt congratulations to all our newly certified nursery practitioners. Your commitment is helping build a greener and more sustainable future for our communities,”

Papua New Guinea’s community forestry initiatives, such as DNC’s nursery training, are key to protecting biodiversity and empowering local people to lead climate action at the grassroots level.
