DNC Builds Ranger House at GOLBA

Dikasuna Nature Conservation Inc. (DNC) is making strong progress on the construction of a new ranger house at the GOLBA Reforestation Site, providing much-needed accommodation for park rangers protecting the area.
The new structure will serve as a base for DNC’s rangers and volunteers, offering a place to rest and recharge after long days of conservation and wildlife protection work.
Volunteers and rangers are working hand in hand, bringing this project to life amidst the vibrant sounds of the forest. Each beam set and nail driven is a step closer to creating a haven for our rangers and supporting their tireless efforts in conservation.”
The wooden frame of the house is now taking shape at the GOLBA Reforestation Site, a key part of DNC’s ongoing initiative to strengthen protection of the last remnant forest belonging to the Sipaku Clan.
The ranger house will serve as a vital base for patrolling, monitoring forest health, and supporting the community’s reforestation work at GOLBA.
Projects like this ensure rangers are well-equipped to respond to conservation challenges, including illegal logging, bushfires, and wildlife threats.
Papua New Guinea’s forest rangers are at the frontline of biodiversity protection, and Dikasuna’s investment in ranger infrastructure demonstrates a growing commitment to community-led conservation.
